Why Join as A Registered Builder or Registered Remodeler?
BIA has a group insurance plan which offers quality health insurance for members and their employees at extremely competitive rates. (If you have 2 or more employees.)
BIA members may qualify to participate in the AGC-SIF, a Workers Compensation self-insured fund. If you qualify, this program can easily offset the cost of annual dues.
BIA also participates in several other insurance plans, including General Liability, Business, and Builders Risk Insurance.
The Association provides a variety of contracts for use solely by BIA builders and remodelers. BIA also provides copies of the Limited Warranty booklet, which builders and remodelers are required to provide to their customers for a nominal fee.
BIA offers an array of educational programs, discounted to its members, aimed at putting builders and remodelers at the forefront of the building industry.
Looking for a new subcontractor? You'll easily find them through the Association. BIA meetings and events provide builders and remodelers with the opportunity to build important relationships with vendors.
Through BIA, many builders and remodelers have built their businesses by participating in Homearama, the Tour of Remodeled Homes, and the Home, Garden & Remodeling Show. And, within those events, BIA provides advertising and sponsorship opportunities.

On occasion builders and remodelers have difficulty navigating the permit or licensing process. BIA will do its best to assist and ensure its members are the first to know of any changes related to industry regulations.
BIA's Governmental Affairs and Land Development committees monitor and address legislative, regulat01y, utility, and legal issues. Through the Political Action Committee, BIA supports candidates seeking public office who support small businesses and the overall housing industry.
Through peer review, accountability, and a push for positive public awareness, BIA works to ensure BIA builders and remodelers represent the best of the industry.
Each year the association recognizes dozens of member businesses for a variety of outstanding accomplishments and provides its members with an opportunity to take on industry leadership roles within the organization.
BIA works hard reminding everyone that housing is the backbone of the economy, and that its builders and remodelers are accountable to stand behind their homes with a limited warranty for one year.
Every member of BIA is also a member of the Home Builders Association of Kentucky (HBAK). HBAK is heavily involved in all state legislative matters that affect the building industry and lobby on its behalf to ensure that the housing industry remains strong.
All BIA members are automatically members of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). NAHB is one of the largest professional trade organizations in the world, with more than 200,000 members. The NAHB represents the entire spectrum of services, contractors, and suppliers who have an impact on the construction industry.
